Steve Hsu is Vice-President for Research and Professor of Theoretical Physics at Michigan State University, where he oversees over $500 million in annual research expenditures. Educated at Caltech and Berkeley, he was a Harvard Junior Fellow and held professorships at Yale University and the University of Oregon. Hsu was founder and CEO of SafeWeb, an information security startup acquired by Symantec. He is a scientific advisor to BGI and a member of its Cognitive Genomics Lab. Hsu has developed new algorithms for genomic prediction using large scale datasets.
