Mark Levinson

Director of Particle Fever

Before embarking on his film career, Mark earned a doctoral degree in theoretical particle physics from the University of California at Berkeley. In the film world, he became a specialist in ADR, working with actors and directors in post-production to write and record additional dialogue. He has worked closely with such directors as Anthony Minghella (The English Patient, The Talented Mr. Ripley, Cold Mountain), Francis Coppola (The Rainmaker), Milos Forman (Goya’s Ghosts) Sean Penn (The Pledge) and David Fincher (Seven, The Social Network). He is the writer/producer/director of the narrative feature film Prisoner of Time, which examined the lives of former Russian dissident artists after the collapse of the Soviet Union, and had an acclaimed premiere at the Moscow International Film Festival. Most recently, he directed the award-winning documentary feature, Particle Fever, an intimate, inside-look at the particle physics community on the verge of discovery at the Large Hadron Collider.
